Job Stories From Lexington, NC
Push Piers Reinforce Foundation of Lexington, NC Home

When Lexington homeowner Becky L. noticed that her doors weren’t opening and closing correctly and her floors started to become uneven, she realized that the problems might be caused by a foundation problem.  Nervous for the well-being of her family, she immediately called the professionals at Tar Heel Basement Systems after seeing an advertisement on a local billboard.

Soon after, Becky was met by foundation repair specialist Kent Dunn to check out the condition of her foundation.  After inspecting her foundation inside and out, Kent explained that the best solution would be to install push piers.  Push piers work by first being connected to the settling or slanting foundation. The piers are then driven into the ground hydraulically until a suitable load-bearing stratum is encountered. Over time, the foundation slowly starts to lift and eventually will be lifted to its originally position.

Over the course of a single day, primary foreman Josh Watson and his crew successfully installed the push piers.  With the piers installed, the home is now more stable, and the foundation will go back to even and straight leveling and Becky’s foundation troubles will be a thing of the past.
